Professional Pet Shippers From the Globe Gather in Panama for International Pet and Animal Transportation Association Conference
Panama City, Panama – September 22, 2014 – Members of the International Pet and Animal Transportation Association (IPATA) will descend upon Panama City, Panama, October 10 - 14, for its annual International Conference, the world's largest gathering of pet shipping professionals.
Pet shippers are the people who move your pet from point A to point B, work directly with the airlines, and who understand the rules and regulations of different countries. During their annual meeting at the InterContinental Playa Bonita Resort and Spa, pet shippers will meet with airlines from across the globe, learn about changes in government requirements and hear from a panel of veterinarians on topics such as emergency care and moving animals for treatment and disease testing.
The theme of the conference is "Teamwork Among Partners." Jan Horton Spence will provide the keynote address. She has circled the globe as a trainer, consultant and guest speaker for franchisees, non-profit organizations and other companies such as Pillsbury, Walmart, and Frito-Lay. As a member of the National Speakers Association, Jan combines her business experience with her desire to see people live out their God-given purpose and speaks to small and large groups about goal-setting, sales, priorities and financial freedom. Known for her highly interactive, entertaining & inspiration style, she recently taught in Switzerland, Romania and Uganda.
“United attends the IPATA International Conference annually because it’s a great opportunity to meet with our partners and share best practices with other professionals who share our goal: to ensure safe and comfortable transport for pets and animals,” says Krystle Weaver, Manager, United Airlines PetSafe.
On Tuesday, October 14, attendees will gather for the Black & White Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony, the closing event of the conference. IPATA will present its annual awards such as the Best Operational Service Provider Award, Industry Partner Award and the 2014 Millie Woolf Memorial Leadership Award, which will be presented by Dr. Walter Woolf, in memory of his late wife, a founding member of IPATA.
