Awards

Each year awards are presented at the IPATA International Conference Gala and Awards Dinner. Those recognized include companies that further the mission of IPATA in promoting the safe and humane transport of pets and other animals.

2017 AwardsThese awards recognize outstanding achievements and highlight significant contributions to the pet transportation industry. All members are invited to help ensure the awards program maintains the highest possible quality, by nominating individuals or organizations whom they consider most eligible to receive international recognition through receipt of an appropriate IPATA award.

2019 award recipients will be announced and honored at the Awards Dinner & Gala to be held at the IPATA 40th Anniversary Gala at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. This is the closing event for IPATA's International Conference.

In 2018 IPATA Introduced the “Best Pet Shipping Airline” Award

This award is voted on by regional members and given for the best pet shipping airline WITHIN their region and then FROM their region to each of the other regions in the world in each of five areas:

  • Communication
  • Compliance with the LAR
  • Pricing
  • Reliability
  • Transit Care

Separate awards will be given to the best pet shipping airline in the Americas, in Asia/Oceania, in Europe and in the Middle East/Africa region based on the IPATA member airlines with the most votes in each region.

The recipients of IPATA’s Best Pet Shipping Airline Awards will be announced at the Icebreaker Reception at the 40th International Conference of Professional Pet Shippers in Chicago, Illinois - USA, on November 1, 2019.


Best Operational Service Provider Award

This award honors a (non-owner) individual who provides service on an operational level and who actually makes the pet relocation happen. It recognizes the one agent you always enjoy working with, whom you can rely on to consistently deliver exceptional service for your clients, and who is an inspiration to the industry and its members. This award is for those who exemplifies professionalism, empathy, compassion, efficient response, accuracy of information and customer service.


Excellence Award

The Excellence award is given to an individual, company or organization who has made outstanding efforts in public service initiatives and/or who contributes to the improvement of animal welfare with substantial impacts to humanitarian or animal welfare efforts.


Industry Partner Award

This award recognizes a person, organization or company who, on behalf of some type of consultancy, business' product or service, pushed barriers within the industry and whose partnership with IPATA has resulted in improved welfare, improved business for IPATA members or enhanced ability to serve customers. Partners may include such entities as government agencies, quarantine station or airport animal handling facilities, suppliers of goods and services, or those that transport animals (railroads, ferries/ships, buses or airlines) - need not be an IPATA member.


Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement award is bestowed upon an individual whose lifetime of work demonstrates dedication to the industry, to IPATA’s mission of safe and humane transport of pets and other animals, and who performed outstanding service within or outside of IPATA with integrity.


Millie Woolf Memorial Leadership Award

As IPATA's most prestigious and coveted award, the Milllie Woolf Memorial Leadership Award is given to the person, company or association who provides leadership in developing opportunities which advance the education or improves the professionalism of those involved in the safe and humane transport of animals. Those individuals offered new ideas, supported changes or developed action steps to encourage professional growth through mentoring, leadership and aspired to "give it their very best."
