Continental receives IPATA's "Award for Excellence" for it's PetSafe program
Guam - Continental Airlines Executive Vice President for Operations, Mark Moran, presented the Continental Micronesia co-workers with a plaque from IPATA. The airline's PetSafe program was honored earlier this month at the IPATA conference in Newark at the 32nd Conference. IPATA implemented a new “Award for Excellence” and chose Continental and its PetSafe program as its first honoree for all the dedication it's members have toward safer pet travel world wide. CHANGES IN TSA's RULES - February 1, 2009
Change 5 to TSA’s AOSSP which went into effect as of February 1, 2009 requires that animals traveling on " passenger air carriers, originating outside the USA and destined for the USA must be tendered [submitted to the airline for transport] by a regulated agent, an IATA approved agent, a cargo agent, consolidator or freight forwarder. Thus far Continental, Delta and Northwest have confirmed that IPATA members meet the definition according TSA for tendering animals under the provisions of this change. Virgin Atlantic has determined that their current procedures are in compliance for acceptance of pets being tendered.”
